This Saturday (6th November) I shall be at Southampton University to talk to the Napoleonic Association’s Annual Conference about ‘Writing and Researching a Historical Novel.’
It’s fantastic to have been asked to such a prestigious event, but slightly scary at the same time. I’m fairly used to talking to large groups, but on my subject. That’s horses, not history.
At least I’ve not been asked to prove my credentials by showing my ‘O’ level History certificate from 19… a long time ago. And the only date I have to remember is…er..Saturday.
Who ever said being a writer is boring? I’m off now to finish writing my talk.
And I’d better check I’ve got enough prescription tranquillisers….
